Monday Muse

As we approach the 4th of July, our Nation's Day of Independence, I started to think about what it means to be a patriot.

I found this:

[pey-tree-uh t, -ot or, especially Brit., pa-tree-uh t] Show IPA
a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her countryand its interests with devotion.
2. a person who regards himself or herself as a defender, esp. ofindividual rights, against presumed interference by the federal government. Unabridged
Based on the Random House Dictionary, © Random House, Inc. 2010.

Its a good definition. Very factual, but perhaps lacking in the spirit and soul of what patriotism is all about.

Its the LETTER of the law, without the SPIRIT of the law.

So, here is the muse today...What does it mean to be a patriot?

How would you express that in your art?

Who are some patriots that you admire?

How can you show them in your art?

Have a fabulous Monday!

Peace, ya'll!!!

Great question. I'm just happy to be back in the USA for the 4th of July! I can't wait for the celebrations!
